Major shopping websites allow you to save your card for later use. You may already have your "regular" card saved at your favorite shopping websites. Do not save your Quadpay virtual card at any website. The virtual card number generated for your purchase is unique for that purchase only.
If you complete your Quadpay order and want to buy again, you will need to make a new Purchase Request to generate a new virtual card--every time.
If your Quadpay virtual card is declined for any reason, the shopping website may automatically switch to one of your other saved cards. If this happens, your order will not go through Quadpay and you will be charged for the full amount by the merchant.
To make sure that your Quadpay virtual card does not get declined, make a new Purchase Request, and use the new virtual card every time.
Pro-Tip: Many of our customers prefer to delete their Quadpay virtual cards from the shopping websites after they receive their orders to prevent any future mix-ups.
Every time you make a Purchase Request from Quadpay, we open a pending charge on your card. Open Purchase Requests can be cancelled in the app, but the pending charge may remain on your card for the next 24 hours, up to 7 days.
For example, if you make a Purchase Request... then cancel it. Open another, then cancel. Open yet another and complete your purchase, you may see up to three charges on your card. Two of them will be removed within 7 days, but most likely in 24 hours.
The two biggest reasons that a Quadpay virtual card is declined is because the website tried to use an old virtual card, or a Purchase Request amount was too low. Always make sure to include tax, shipping costs, and other fees in your Purchase Requests.
